Austin Powers' 'Mini Me' Verne Troyer In Hospital

Verne Troyer, most famous for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers film series, has been admitted to hospital in Los Angeles.

"Asking you to keep Verne in your thoughts and prayers. He's getting the best care possible and is resting comfortably. Appreciate the support from family, friends, and fans around the world," a message posted on Troyer's official Instagram account said.

The message did not comment on what he was being treated for, but People magazine reported he was admitted for possible alcohol poisoning after the Los Angeles City Fire Department was called to his Hollywood home on Monday evening.

The 49-year-old actor had previously been taken to hospital for alcohol addiction.

"I've battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it's not always been an easy fight, I'm willing to continue my fight day by day," said Troyer in a statement released last April.
