Angela Lansbury To Return In 'Murder She Wrote'

Classic crime series 'Murder, She Wrote' may be returning for one final episode if star Angela Lansbury gets her way.

The actress, 91, who played the role of Jessica Fletcher in the long-running television drama has told The Sunday Post she wouldn't be surprised if the show was revived one final time.

"I was in genuine tears doing my last scene,"

"Jessica Fletcher has become so much a part of my life, it was difficult to come to terms with it being all over."

"Having said that, there have been some two-hour specials since we stopped in 1996 and I wouldn't be surprised if we got together just one more time."

The show ran for 12 years and recorded 264 episodes before it finished up in 1996.

There have also been four two-hour television movies which continued Jessica's murderer-hunting activities in America and overseas.

Lansbury added:

"I was amazed at how successful it was"

"I never believed it would run for 12 years"

"I would not want to take anything away from Murder, She Wrote but when you are the principal in something like that you have to work incredibly hard to help keep it fresh."

"My life totally revolved around it. There was hardly any time off and certainly no time or energy for doing anything else."

"You can get trapped."
