Stones London Club Show from 1971
A new concert video featuring rarely seen footage of The Rolling Stones performing at London's Marquee Club in 1971 will be released on June 23 on various formats as part of the band's From the Vault series. From the Vault: The Marquee -- Live in 1971 documents a show that took place in March of that year, shortly before the release of Sticky Fingers, and was filmed for U.S. television.
During the gig, The Stones showcased several songs that appeared on Sticky Fingers, including "Brown Sugar," "Dead Flowers," "Bitch" and "I Got the Blues," a tune the band has rarely played live since. The concert also featured renditions of "Midnight Rambler" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction."
In addition, the release contains several bonus performances, including alternate takes of "I Got the Blues" and "Bitch," as well as footage of The Stones playing "Brown Sugar" on a 1971 episode of the U.K. TV show Top of the Pops.
The audio from the Marquee concert was mixed by renowned engineer and frequent Stones collaborator Bob Clearmountain.
From the Vault: The Marquee -- Live in 1971 will be available as a DVD and a standard-definition Blu-ray disc, as well as a DVD/CD set and a DVD/vinyl LP package.
