Steely Dan's Donald Fagen Arrested
Steely Dan frontman Donald Fagen was arrested on Monday after allegedly becoming physically abusive to his wife, singer Libby Titus, at the couple's New York City apartment.
The New York Post's Page Six website reports that, according to a criminal claim filed by police, the incident began as a verbal dispute but escalated, with Fagen eventually allegedly shoving Titus into a marble window frame, causing her right arm to bruise and swell.
Titus told The Post in a phone interview after the incident, "I don't feel good…I'm very tired and I'm divorcing my husband."
According to Page Six, Fagen was arraigned Tuesday morning in a Manhattan court on one count of assault and one count of harassment, then was released without bail. His wife received an order of protection against him.
Fagen and Titus have been married since 1993, although they first met during the 1960s when they both attended Bard College. Libby previously had a longtime relationship with late Band drummer Levon Helm, with whom she had a daughter, singer Amy Helm, in 1970.
