Midnight Oil Announce Show Plans After Guitarists Injury

Midnight Oil have announced that the final four shows for their current Great Circle 2017 World Tour WILL still go ahead, despite guitarist Jim Moginie badly injuring himself at the band's recent Melbourne show.

Moginie fell badly during the band’s encore set and had to be led from the stage and into an ambulance for treatment.

Lead singer Peter Garrett then addressed the crowd to say Moginie was OK but unfortunately too injured to return to the stage and continue playing.

The band was then forced to finish the show with an unplanned acoustic performance without Moginie.

Fortunately, fans fears that the band may have to postpone or even cancel their remaining four shows have been dispelled after the band released a statement last night.

Revealing that despite Moginie suffering a serious injury to his hamstring, the shows will go ahead with Moginie having to sit for the duration of their performances.

The Oils play Sydney's Domain this Saturday before further shows in Wollongong and Melbourne before returning to Sydney to wind up their comeback tour.
