Keith Richards Says Stones In Studio Soon

Keith Richards recently announced plans to release a new solo album, Crosseyed Heart, in September. He now has revealed that The Rolling Stones are planning to roll into a recording studio soon.

In a new interview with U.K. magazine Mojo, the guitar legend says the band intends to hit the road for more tour dates this year and, after that, will begin work on a new album.

During the interview, which will appear in the upcoming issue of Mojo, Richards reports that The Stones started discussing a new recording project before they launched their recently wrapped Zip Code Tour of North America.

"I know Mick [Jagger] wants to record again [because] he blurted it out in a meeting: 'It's about time we went back and recorded,'" Keith tells the magazine.  "I was like, 'We're here to talk about a tour, right?'  So that will be interesting.  End of the year."

Richards also discusses his upcoming solo effort in the new Mojo issue, which hits newsstands in the U.K. this Tuesday, July 28.  Crosseyed Heart, which is Keith's first solo studio album since 1992's Main Offender, will be released on September 18.
