Bobby Brown claims he had sex with a ghost
US R&B singer Bobby Brown has opened up about his turbulent relationship with his late ex-wife Whitney Houston and the death of his daughter in a TV interview with Robin Roberts.
Brown recalls the first time he saw Houston take an illegal substance and also claims he once had sex with a ghost during the interview for the 20/20 program.
The singer, who has had his own issues with substance abuse, confesses he broke wedding traditions by checking in on his bride before they exchanged vows and was "shocked" to find Houston "hunched over a bureau snorting a line of coke".
"She did drugs but drugs didn't do her. She knew how to handle herself. It only made me love and want to protect her more," Brown tells Roberts in the pre-recorded interview.
Brown has long maintained hard drugs were a part of Houston's life before they became romantically involved.
"It wasn't me who started her (on drugs)," the My Prerogative hitmaker states.
"I take my part and I take it hard for me even being a part of it, but we all have our own minds and some of us are stronger than others."
Houston struggled with drugs following their divorce in 2007 and cocaine was also listed as a contributing factor in her accidental drowning death in 2012, when she was found dead in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Ironically, the former couple's only child, Bobbi Kristina, was also discovered unresponsive in the bath at her Georgia home in January, 2015. She was placed in a medically-induced coma but she never recovered and died in July, aged 22.
Brown is convinced his daughter's boyfriend Nick Gordon, who was informally adopted by Whitney as a child, knows more about the deaths of both Bobbi Kristina and her mother.
Fighting back tears in the TV special, Brown says there is only one person who was around on both occasions.
"I won't say his name... He knows what happened. I don't know what happened that night, but he does."
Gordon's lawyer has since slammed the allegations as "baseless".
Brown also spoke to Roberts about a spooky encounter he had with a ghost.
He revealed he woke up one night in a creepy new mansion and found a spook on top of him.
"One time, I woke up, and yeah, a ghost... I was being mounted by a ghost."
Bobby sang the the theme song and had a cameo in Ghostbusters 2 (1989)
Brown, who recounts the odd experience in full in his upcoming memoir, Every Little Step, insists he wasn't using drugs at the time and feels sure it wasn't a crazy dream.
The 47-year-old, who also claims to have slept with Madonna and Janet Jackson, added, "I wasn't high... I was not trippin'."
During his 20/20 chat, Bobby also addressed his substance abuse issues, which landed him in the headlines more times than his hits, and said he's now sober.
The 20/20 interview is Brown's first proper sit down chat since the death of his daughter. The 20/20 program will air in the US on Tuesday night.
