TV Legend Bert Newton Rushed To Hospital
The health issues surrounding television legend Bert Newton continued yesterday after he spent seven hours in Epworth hospital in Melbourne.
A distraught looking Patti Newton later emerged to return home, by herself.
An onlooker told Woman’s Day:
“Patti definitely looked stressed, like something was really up,”
“She was far from her usual calm self.”
This latest health episode comes after the 78 year old was hospitalised in March for a serious bout of pneumonia, one of several times Bert has battled the potentially deadly infection.
Bert's health issues have been so serious that he was forced to sit out attending the Logie Awards on Sunday night.
A close friend said:
“Bert has been ill on a number of unreported occasions,”
“The most notable time was his heart scare [in 2012] when hospitalised and immediately prepped for surgery. On that time they were prepared for the worst.”
“But Bert has a strong constitution, it leaves his family gobsmacked sometimes,”
“He will rally and say, ‘Stop worrying, I’m OK’, when doctors least expect it. They don’t make them like Bert anymore.”
Get well soon Bert, we love you!
