Ray Martin’s Daughter Jenna Involved In Car Crash
Jenna Martin, 30, an author and film producer, was driving her grey Toyota Corolla hatchback to her parent’s home when it was involved in a peak hour collision on the Pacific Highway at Waverton, on Sydney’s Lower North Shore.
Ms Martin, who last year released her first novel Driving Under The Influence, inspired by a trip she took with her father, had her pet border collie, Jed, with her in the car.
An ambulance was called, but police said no people needed treatment.
This is the second serious accident in four months involving the Martin family.
In September Mr Martin’s black BMW was badly damaged in a crash at North Sydney. He was unhurt.
A witness told The Daily Telegraph Ms Martin’s car was hit by another car at set of traffic lights at the intersection of Bay Road and the Pacific Highway, just before 6pm.
The impact forced the Toyota onto the footpath and into an iron and sandstone fence surrounding the historic North Sydney Demonstration School. The fence was damaged in the incident.
Ms Martin’s hatchback had front and rear end damage. It needed towing.
The popular former Midday host and 60 Minutes stalwart took care of his daughter’s dog while she spoke to police and the other driver involved in the crash.
The school’s headmistress Myra Wearne came out to see if she could offer any help.
A witness said the dog was distressed after the accident but calmed down soon after.
