‘Making A Murderer’ Follow Up Series Has Started Production

Get ready to be glued to your screen once again because the follow up series to the hit docuseries ‘Making A Murder’ has entered production and will be hitting Netflix oh so soon!

The series titled ‘Convicting a Murderer’ will continue on from the first instalment focusing once again on the State of Wisconsin’s highly controversial case against Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey for the alleged murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005.

It is being described as a follow-up documentary rather than a sequel to the original series and has been created by producers Shawn Rech and Andrew Hale.

The aim is to give a more neutral approach to the case by examining perspectives of the law enforcement involved in the case as well as those convicted.

“When ‘Making a Murderer’ was produced, many on the law enforcement side of the story could not, or would not, participate in the series, which resulted in a one-sided analysis of the case,” said Rech in a statement.

“This docuseries will examine the case and the allegations of police wrongdoing from a broader perspective. It will also share with viewers the traumatic effects of being found guilty and vilified in the court of public opinion.”

Entertainment Weekly are reporting that ‘Convicting a Murderer’ producers have managed to gain exclusive interviews with retired District Attorney Ken Kratz and the lead investigator in the case, Tom Fassbender. Neither of these people appeared in the ‘Making a Murderer’ original series.

“We’ll present all of the evidence in the Avery case from the perspective of both the prosecution and the defence and see if viewers feel the same way they did two years ago following the first season of ‘Making a Murderer’,” continued Rech.

After all of the hype that surrounded the case during the time that ‘Making a Murderer’ was released, we’re certain that this new series is going to be just as popular! We’re certainly waiting eagerly with our popcorn and conspiracy theories to binge watch ‘Convicting a Murderer’ when it’s released!
