John Mellencamp Spotted with Christie Brinkley

He's a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who used to be married to a supermodel, and she's  a supermodel who used to be married to a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, but have John Mellencamp and Christie Brinkley found romance with each other?

ET Online reports the two stars were spotted on a dinner date together at the Bowery Hotel in New York City Monday.

An eyewitness tells ET that the 63-year-old singer/songwriter arrived at the hotel before Brinkley, and then the two celebs spent an hour together there before leaving.  According to the eyewitness, Brinkley got into Mellencamp's chauffeured car and they were driven away together. A photo capturing Brinkley and Mellencamp leaving the hotel shows Christie with a big smile and John touching the small of her back.

Regarding how long the two stars may have been seeing each other, a source tells ET, "It's not like that.  This is the first time they've ever been out together." Mellencamp and Brinkley were  previously spotted at the same event, a special New York screening of the new Bill Murray movie Rock the Kasbah that took place in late August, although they weren't seen together.

Mellencamp was married to one-time Victoria's Secret model Elaine Irwin his third wife -- from 1992 to 2011, and he most recently has been in an on-again off-again relationship with actress Meg Ryan.  Brinkley, of course, was married to Billy Joel, who was the second of her four husbands.  The couple were together from 1985 to 1994.

In other news, Mellencamp and country legend Willie Nelson will appear together on tonight's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS.  John and Willie will chat about the 2015 edition of the Farm Aid concert, and also will give a performance.  This show will air in Australia Thursday September 17 on Channel 11.

The 30th annual benefit event takes place this Saturday, September 19, in downtown Chicago with a lineup featuring Farm Aid regulars Mellencamp, Nelson, Neil Young and Dave Matthews, as well as Mavis Staples, Jack Johnson, Imagine Dragons and more.
