Jessica Marais Makes Big Announcement About Her Career
Aussie TV star Jessica Marais has released a statement saying she will “step away from acting” for the rest of this year to focus on her health.
The announcement means that Marais has stepped aside from her lead role in Nine’s new drama Bad Mothers which was due to start filming next month.
The 33-year-old's management said in the statement:
“Jessica has decided to step away from acting for the remainder of 2018 to focus on her health and spend time with her family. She is disappointed that she will not be a part of the Bad Mothers production with such an incredible cast and team behind it, but knows that it is important to take time out to maintain ongoing balance and wellbeing.”

There is no word yet on who will replace her in the cast as of yet.
Back in July Marais pulled out of the Logie Awards, with her management saying at the time that her health was the reason for her last minute no-show.
At the time her management revealed:
“It is with much disappointment that we advise Jessica Marais is unable to attend the TV Week Logie Awards due to her health,”
“Jess is naturally disappointed, is grateful to TV Week and all the viewers who have nominated her for the Awards this year and wishes all the nominees and her friends a great celebration on Sunday night.”
Marais has a daughter, Scout, with her ex-fiancee James Stewart.
