Emilio Estevez Snubs Breakfast Club Cast
Actor Emilio Estevez deliberately avoids reunions with his The Breakfast Club castmates.
Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall starred as troubled high school pupils trapped in detention in the beloved 1985 coming of age movie.
In the film the Estevez, 54, played Andrew Clark, an athlete who befriends his schoolmates despite their very different backgrounds and attitudes.
The same isn't true in real life though.
Ringwald, 48, who played spoilt teenager Claire Standish, says her co-star has shunned all attempts to reunite the cast of the cinema classic and that they've barely spoken in years.
"The only person (from the film) I don't really see is Emilio," she told Australian breakfast program The Morning Show.
"He really won't have anything to do with anything ... He's just like 'That's the past and that's not really what I want to do'."
Except for Estevez, cast members have reunited to celebrate landmark dates since the film's release. In 2010 they participated in an on stage Q&A to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary.
Last year, Ringwald and Sheedy attended a special screening of the film at the South by Southwest festival.
