Big Little Lies Season 2 Teaser & Premiere Date Released
Ever since we were introduced to the complex women of Monterey in the first season of Big Little Lies we’ve been holding out for the second instalment.
And while we still have a little while to wait yet, we do have our first teaser trailer AND a premiere date to help maintain our patience.
HBO released a short trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the Emmy winning series and revealed that the show will officially premiere on June 9! So get ready because it’s not too far away now!!
When we left off in season one, the villain and Celeste’s (Nicole Kidman) abusive husband, Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgard) had just been murdered and the entire school was under investigation.
As we pick back up with season two it appears we’ll be watching the main women involved in the investigation, who are being referred to as the Monterey Five, struggling to adjust with being possible suspects in the death.
“We’re kidding ourselves if we think people will stop talking,” says Celeste in the trailer before an unknown voice cuts in and says, “You’re one of the Monterey Five, right?”
The teaser also gives us our first glimpse at Meryl Streep, who joins the cast as Perry’s mum, Mary Louise Wright.
“My son is dead,” she says to Madeline Martha Mackenzie, played by Reese Witherspoon.
“And I want to know what happened that night,” she continued.
“Very tempted to ask you, but I don’t think I would get the truth, would I?”
Actresses Zoe Kravitz (Bonnie Carlson), Shailene Woodley (Jane Chapman) and Laura Dern (renata Klein) also return in the second series as part of the Monterey Five.
HBO has previously said that the second season will focus on “Malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting.”

We’ll definitely be holding our breath until June 9th!
